El Cañar pilgrimage

It is celebrated on the first Sunday in January in the El Cañar Rambla (watercourse), near the Peñas Blancas mountain in Isla Plana, and is dedicated to the Virgin of Light.

Thousands of pilgrims and Christmas groups from the Campo de Cartagena take part and liven up this popular event with their chants.
