Los Alcázares, a time machine.

At the same time the Holy Week is celebrated, the Berber market is also displayed, as a commemoration of the invasions that were made into the Mar Menor in the times of Corsairs and Pirates, turning the streets back into medieval times while representing the invasions and way of life at the time.

An entire village turned into a time machine.

A journey to the 16th and 17th centuries when the Berber pirates attacked the population of this bay with their frequent raids, which resulted in the construction of surveillance towers where people could protect themselves during these attacks, and which has left one witness: our famous El Rame tower.

The village converted in a machine time

In order to recreate and commemorate this past, during the Holy Week there are representations through different activities and theatre plays including  fencing, archery,  juggling, falconry, dances, flamethrowers…as well as the Medieval Market with over 60 craftsmen and different workshops (goldsmiths, resin, incense, ointments, paper maché, fire engraved leather, musical instruments...etc) that together with the landing and display of pirates, peasants, shepards and fishermen make this festivity a mixture of cohabiting, youth and history.
