The El Trovo National Competition has been held in Cartagena since 1970.

There are three categories to compete: Trovo, Décima and Controversia.

Two are the aims of this competition: firstly, to preserve and promote this typical art of our area, and secondly, to show it to the visitors who are here in August, right on the shores of the Mediterranean in this municipality.
